Maybe things are going to be okay after all: Paddington In Peru, the third installment in the much-beloved big-screen Paddington Bear adaptations, now has a release date. There’s still a while to wait, though, as the film will premiere in the U.K. on November 8, 2024, and on January 17, 2025 in the U.S. Nevertheless, life has gotten a little easier knowing that there’s Paddington on the horizon.

Paddington In Peru follows the titular bear to Peru “as he returns to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears,” per a synopsis from StudioCanal. “With the Brown Family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and to the mountain peaks of Peru.”

The highly anticipated threequel began filming in July and recently wrapped after shooting on location in London, Peru, and Colombia, according to a press release from the studio. Ben Whishaw returns as the voice of Paddington with Imelda Staunton as the voice of Aunt Lucy, alongside Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Antonio Banderas, Olivia Colman, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin and Jim Broadbent. Rachel Zegler was previously cast in the film as well, but had to bow out due to the actors strike; she’s been replaced by newcomer Carla Tous.

Also new to the team is director Dougal Wilson, who takes the reins from previous Paddingtons director Paul King (King is now over on the Wonka beat). “It’s been a joy and an honor to shoot Paddington In Peru with such a wonderful and talented cast and crew,” Wilson said in a statement. “I feel incredibly lucky to have been blessed with such a lovely group of people, many of whom have returned to the world of this beloved bear. We are also delighted to have welcomed Emily, Olivia, Antonio and Carla to the Paddington family.”
